Playon is an all-in-one client-side media player, custom IPTV playlist manager, web browser tool, and local media downloader.
Zero-Surveillance Guarantee: We operate on a strict client-side model. We do not track, collect, store, sell, rent, or transmit your local video files, personal browsing history, or media playback activities to any external servers.

2. Information We Collect & Store
- Local Storage & Media Files: To function as a local video and audio player, the app scans local folders (such as Downloads, Camera, Movies) to index and display media files for playback. No local media files leave your device.
- IPTV Credentials & Custom Playlists: Any custom M3U playlist URLs, Xtream Codes API credentials, or stream URLs imported by the user are stored strictly locally in an encrypted SQLite database on your device. We do not operate cloud tracking servers.
- In-App Browser Data: Search queries and URLs entered in the built-in "Playon Browser" are processed directly on your device to load web pages. We do not track or sell your browsing history.
- Device & Operational Logs: Standard non-identifying operational data (e.g. OS version, device model, app version) used solely for app stability, ANR bug prevention, and ad service rendering.
3. Device Permissions Required
Playon requests the following Android device permissions strictly to deliver core functionalities:
READ_MEDIA_VIDEO/READ_MEDIA_AUDIO/READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: Used solely to discover, render thumbnails for, and play local video/audio files stored on your device.INTERNET&ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Required to stream user-provided IPTV channels, load web pages in the browser, and check remote config.POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Required on Android 13+ to display download progress and background media player controls in the system notification shade.
4. Third-Party Services & Ads
Playon integrates trusted third-party SDKs to provide essential operational services:
- Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): Displays banner and rewarded video ads. Google AdMob may collect non-personal device identifiers to serve non-personalized or personalized ads. See Google Privacy Policy.
- Firebase Remote Config: Used to fetch anonymous operational flags (such as version update checks and feature availability). No personal data or hardware serial numbers are collected.
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third-party marketers or data brokers.
5. Data Storage, Security & Retention
All user preferences, playlist credentials, bookmarks, and download tasks are stored locally on your device using secure SQLite storage. Communication with external stream links and web endpoints uses encrypted HTTPS channels.
6. User Rights & Data Deletion
You have full control over your data within Playon:
- Clear Application Data: You can wipe all local stored database playlists, bookmarks, and settings anytime via App Settings → Reset Local Database or by clearing app data in Android System Settings.
- Revoke Permissions: You can grant or revoke storage and notification permissions anytime in Android Settings.

7. Children’s Privacy
Playon is a general utility media player and web browser tool intended for general audiences aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
